Change is in the air and it smells great.

No matter which side of the Democratic fence you sit on, there is no denying that last night history was made.

More people have voted in this presidential primary selection than any other primary in history.  And for most -- our choices: our first African American nominee or our first female nominee. AMAZING. Some people thought it would never happen in their lifetime. Others, can't understand the fuss. Some people are licking their wounds today as many of us did in 04 when we realized Dean would not be our next president.  Others, are smiling from ear-to-ear full of hope and promise.

It's been divisive and contentious - but honestly, all primaries are. The only difference between this one and others is that the fight lasted so long. Anyone who thinks otherwise wasn't a part of the Dean campaign, didn't pay attention to Rove taking down McCain, ignored Kerry Swiftboaters, and missed the attack machine that questioned Max Cleland's patriotism.

But through all the division think about this -- we all believe in the same ideals. Millions upon Millions of us. The same ideals. The same principals.

If you cast a vote in the Democratic Primary and believed deeply in your candidate then YOU BELIEVE in affordable health care for all, quality education for our children, cleaner air and water, alternative energy solutions, fiscal responsibility, transparency in our government. YOU BELIEVE in ending the Iraq occupation expediently and safely, you believe in equality, freedom of speech, and YOU BELIEVE in upholding the CONSTITUTION.

Millions of us believe in the same thing. With all of our differences, we have so much in common. We desperately want the same thing. And I believe millions of us will show up at the polls come November and vote our best interests. We will vote for the Constitution, for our children, for our future and that means we will vote Democrat. The Democratic platform is one of optimism and realism. It's about common sense and you don't need a college degree or a high level of testosterone to have common sense. You don't cut your nose off to spite your face cause at the end of the day you have nothing to hold up your eye glasses.

Hope to see you at Meet Up tonight. BOOKS AND BOOKS. RSVP HERE. And Hope to see you at the Unhappy Hour Friday (which happens to be Simon's birthday).
